Alan v3.0 beta3 is now available. Alan has been updated with what will probably be one of the last Beta versions before going 3.0 (planned for February 2014!). You can view the details of the changes in the Changes section. Windows downloads are available right now, with Linux and MacOSX coming in the next few days.

Robert DeFord writes his first public Alan game and enters the 18th Annual Interactive Fiction Competition (2012). The game "The Sealed Room" is a short game about getting out of a sealed room with only the help of a dragon and a unicorn. It finished 22nd place.

AlanIDE has been released with some updates:
- a toolbar and menu with the expected "Save" and "New" entries
- the splash screen shows the actual version
- the (unused and confusing) interpreter preference setting was removed
- generated game files show up automatically in the navigator so that you can click on them to start the interpreter (as set in your operating system, same as when you double click on an .a3c-file in the file system)

Anssi Räisänen finished 13th out of almost 40 entries in the annual IFComp. "Ted Paladin and the Case of the Abandoned House" was developed using Alan v3 and the extensive library provided by Anssi himself. The game introduces a novel dimension of discovery. Read about the game and play it!
